auditor award

The Hubbard Exempted Village School District is proud to announce that it has been honored with the Ohio Auditor of State Award for excellence in financial accountability and transparency. The Ohio Auditor of State's Office visited Hubbard Schools on Thursday, October 3, 2024, to present the award.

The Auditor of State Award is presented to local governments and school districts upon the completion of a thorough financial audit. To be eligible, entities must meet several strict criteria and demonstrate exceptional financial practices. Hubbard Schools received the award for fulfilling all requirements of a "clean" audit report, including:

  • Filing financial reports with the Auditor of State's Office on time, using the Hinkle System and in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

  • Having no findings for recovery, material citations, or significant deficiencies.

  • Maintaining a management letter free of any ethics referrals, bank reconciliation issues, questioned costs, or other financial concerns.

  • Adhering to all public meeting and public record laws.

“According to the state, only 17% of all public entities in Ohio receive this award. So, we are very proud to receive this distinction, ” said Hubbard Exempted Village School District Treasurer Amber DeJulio. “This recognition reflects the dedication of our district to ensure that our financial resources are responsibly managed.”
