Hello Brothers of Hubbard has teamed up with our district and the city to support hurricane relief! At our Hubbard High School Varsity Football Game on Friday, October 25, Hello Brothers will be collecting non-perishable food items and monetary donations to help those affected by recent hurricanes. All donations will go to MANNA FoodBank in western North Carolina (Asheville area), where many families have lost everything.
Can't make it to the game and still want to help? No worries! You can still donate on October 26 & 27 from 12-4 pm at Hubbard City Hall.

We hope to offer this opportunity for community connection once a month, with dates listed below. At each opportunity, one or two board members will be present. On Friday, October 4, a select number of seniors were invited to join the Hubbard High School chapter of the National Honor Society, among them was Robert (Brodie) Thomson who attends TCTC. Congratulations to all the new inductees!
We want to remind you about the Hubbard Schools Pantry, a resource available to any student who may need extra food support.
If you or your family could use assistance, simply fill out our Food Pantry Request Form (https://forms.gle/4pk9eGxVLpUsbeaw9) or talk to a teacher or school administrator. Once a request is made, food can be sent home with you, or your family can arrange to pick it up from the school – whichever works best!
Everything is confidential, and our goal is to ensure that no student goes without the food they need!
Our very own Hubbard Middle School physical education teacher, Rodney Lehman, reached an incredible milestone this summer by winning a national tennis tournament in the 55+ division!
Mr. Lehman’s began playing the sport as a self-taught player at the age of 35, joining the United States Tennis Association (USTA). In his very first match, he faced a tough opponent from Florida and lost 6-0, 6-0 in just 58 minutes. But this summer, in a story of determination, he came back to face the same opponent at the West Virginia Open in Wheeling, WV—and after an intense four-hour match, Mr. Lehman emerged victorious! 🏅
He has competed in tournaments across West Virginia, Kentucky, and Connecticut, and his previous high finish was third place in a Louisville, KY tournament in 2021. This summer, he also took home the title at the Sharon Open.

We are proud to announce that our district has earned the Auditor of State Award! The Auditor of State’s Office presents the awards to local governments and school districts upon the completion of a financial audit. Entities that receive the award meet the following criteria of a “clean” audit report:
-The entity must file financial reports with the Auditor of State’s Office by the statutory due date, without extension, via the Hinkle System and in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
-The audit report does not contain any findings for recovery, material citations, material weakness, significant deficiencies, Uniform Guidance (Single Audit) findings or questioned costs.
-The entity’s management letter contains no comment related to:
>Ethics referrals
>Questioned costs less than the threshold per the Uniform Guidance
>Lack of timely annual financial report submission
>Bank reconciliation issues
>Failure to obtain a timely Single Audit in accordance with Uniform Guidance
>Findings for recovery less than $500
>Public meetings or public records issues
-The entity has no other financial or other concerns.
Throughout September, our elementary school focused on the important character trait of trustworthiness. Homeroom teachers nominated two students from each class who consistently showed this value all month long.
These students were honored by our school counselor Mrs. Slovesko for being great role models!

As of October 1, 2024, the Grace Lutheran Church parking lot at 111 Hall Avenue, Hubbard, OH will no longer be available for Hubbard families picking up students from Hubbard Schools. The lot is now reserved exclusively for families of the Head Start program opening inside the church. Both the district and the church appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Congressman Joyce is holding a Military Academy Information Day on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. at the Warren Public Library in the Grant room. Representatives from each of the U.S. Military Academies have been invited to speak and they will also be available to talk with students and their families. The session is open to anyone who is interested in learning more about our U.S. Military Academies and Congressman Joyce’s nomination process.
