Due to staffing shortages, we occasionally have to cancel one or more bus routes for a day or even a few days. We assess staffing levels daily and make every effort to cover routes with available drivers. For instance, if a driver calls in sick, we utilize all available resources to fill the position, including mechanics and substitute drivers.
However, if we are unable to find coverage for certain routes, we have no choice but to cancel them. We strive to inform parents as soon as we know a route will be affected.
Bus drivers are a vital part of our district, requiring specialized training and compliance with both Ohio state and federal regulations. We are fortunate to have a dedicated team ensuring safe transportation for our students each day.
