Hubbard High School hosted a “Cuts for Cancer” assembly on Friday, where over 20 students, staff members, and family volunteers rose to the challenge, showcasing their strength and unity to support those facing adversity.
Participants, including Science teacher Mike Brekoski, his grandmother Mary Lynn (a breast cancer survivor), and students Kyle Barr, Michael Bobovnik, Audrey Bray, Liam Burton, Grayson Cheney, Jocelyn Doughton, Caleb Elliot, Max Grymberg, Ayla Hannon, Landon Lovey, Vincent Micheline, Christian Mifsud, Ryan Moss, Landon Nuel, Anthony Prommersberger, Hallee Squibbs, Zack Svensson, Mara Vargo and Isabella Williams, collectively raised over $5,000 for Pink Lights the Way and Tommy Peachock, a recent Hubbard graduate battling leukemia. To take part in the event, each volunteer raised $200, either donating their hair or shaving their heads in solidarity.
A special thanks goes to the barbers from The Wolves Den and a stylist from Studio 11, who generously donated their time and talents to help with the cause.
