Governor Mike DeWine made a special visit to Hubbard High School on Wednesday, meeting with students in several of Mary Davis' classes. Davis, who has worked as a teacher at the school since 2015, has maintained a friendship with Governor DeWine ever since 2006, when she worked on his last US Senate campaign.
During his visit, Governor DeWine spoke to all three of Davis' Government classes, as well as students in her Sociology and Psychology courses. The governor discussed various topics related to local and state government, current issues facing the state, and his experiences in public office. Students were also given the opportunity to ask him questions.
"Governor DeWine’s visit was not only a chance for our students to hear directly from a state leader but also an opportunity to connect what they’ve learned in the classroom to real-world experiences," teacher Mary Davis.
Davis shared that Governor DeWine had expressed interest in coming to Hubbard High School to meet her students, leading to the arrangements for Wednesday's visit.
